# Reduce Support Tickets With Demo-Based Help Articles

Repurpose product demos into step-by-step help articles that customers can use to solve problems independently.

Tools: Supademo, GitBook

Runs: On demand

## What it is

A workflow that turns one recorded demo into a help article. AI Command rewrites the step text and adds a voiceover, then you either export the screenshots and text with Copy Steps or have AI Command draft a longer article you can paste into GitBook or any knowledge base.

## Who it is for

Support and customer success teams who answer the same questions every week, and anyone who maintains a help center or knowledge base.

## Why it matters

Answers to common questions often sit in demos and one-off replies instead of help articles. Turning one demo into an article lets customers read the answer, see each screen, or click through the demo without opening a ticket.

## Turn the demo into an article

Record the answer to a recurring support question with the Supademo Chrome extension, clicking through it as if you were showing a colleague. Open the demo in the editor and ask AI Command to shorten the hotspot text, retitle the chapter and add a voiceover to each step. From there you can use Copy Steps to export the screenshots and text, or ask AI Command to draft a longer help article. Paste the draft into your knowledge base, embed the demo inline for people who would rather click through it, and publish it from your help center.

## What the Video Covers

- 0:00 — Support answers stuck in demos, not help articles
- 0:12 — Record a recurring support ticket with the Chrome extension
- 0:36 — Rewrite the steps and add AI voiceovers with AI Command
- 0:56 — Copy Steps: export the screenshots and text
- 1:08 — Have AI Command draft a knowledge base article
- 1:27 — What customers get: read it, see it, or click through it

## Before You Start

Install the Supademo Chrome extension and record the answer to one recurring support question. When you stop recording, Supademo turns it into a step-by-step, self-guided demo. Open it in the editor and click AI Command at the bottom right.

## Step 1: Tidy the Steps and Add a Voiceover

Paste this prompt and fill in the task and the voice:

"I want to update this demo to have hotspot text that is short; only between 10-20 words. I want to update the chapter title to be about how to [the task this demo shows]. I want the hotspot text to help explain the steps to take. Likewise, I want to add a voiceover using [voice name] to each step."

AI Command rewrites the hotspot text, updates the chapter title and adds a voiceover to every step.

## Step 2: Export the Steps or Draft the Article

For screenshots and text, click Share, open the Download tab and choose Copy Steps. For a longer article, send:

"I would like to turn this into a concise help article for our knowledge base. Can you draft an article here that I can copy and paste into [your knowledge base, e.g. GitBook]?"

AI Command drafts an article with a before-you-start section, numbered steps and a place to see the demo in action. Check it against the demo, paste it into your knowledge base, embed the demo inline, and publish it from there.

## What Customers Get

- The answer as text they can read
- A screenshot of each screen
- The demo itself to click through

## Wrapping Up

Try it with a common question your support team answers every week. You record the answer once and end up with a help article and a demo customers can use without writing in.

**Tips**

- Start with a question your support team answers every week
- Keep the hotspot text between 10 and 20 words, so each step reads as one clear instruction

**Gotchas**

- Publishing the drafted article without checking it against the demo, including anything AI Command flags
- Forgetting that copied screenshots and text need refreshing when the product changes, even though an embedded demo stays current

**Recommendations**

- Embed the demo inline in the article for people who would rather click through than read
- Publish the article from your help center editor, since AI Command drafts it but does not publish it
