What Are Hotspots?

Hotspots serve as clickable annotations that guide viewers through demo steps. They're automatically added when recording with the Chrome Extension and can be fully customized in the Edit view.

Basic Actions

• Add: Double-click anywhere on a slide or use the Hotspot toolbar

• Reposition: Drag to any location on screen

• Edit: Click "Edit" to modify text, styling, or actions

Three Design Options

Pointer: Highlights specific areas with a directional indicator

Callout: Adds general annotations anywhere without directional focus

Custom Area: Emphasizes particular elements through visual highlighting

Customization Features

• Text & Colors: Customize messaging and visual styling

• Tooltip Width: Choose S/M/L sizes or custom dimensions

• Next/Back Buttons: Control viewer navigation

• Step Counter: Display progress (e.g., "3 of 9")

• Hover Display: Show annotations only on hover

• Mobile View: Optimize for smaller screens

• Backdrop Shading: Enable or disable emphasis backgrounds

Pro Tips

💡

Multiple Hotspots: All hotspots on a single step appear simultaneously. To display them sequentially, duplicate the step. Invisible Hotspots: HTML demos support clickable hotspots without visual cues—useful for routing without on-screen indicators.
