Record with Chrome Extension (Recommended)

Overview

The Chrome Extension allows users to record interactive demos by capturing clicks, actions, and interactions directly from a browser. Every user interaction—including clicks, scrolling, and keystrokes—is automatically stitched into step-by-step demos ready for editing and sharing.

Installation & Setup

Install the Supademo Chrome Extension from the Chrome Web Store. The extension works with both Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers. Pin it to your toolbar for easy access.

Setting Default Recording Location

Before recording, you can specify where demos will be saved by clicking the "Save As" dropdown in the recording window.

Recording Methods

Screenshot & Video Demos

The extension captures browser-based applications automatically. Simply click through your product workflow while the extension records each step. In-app popups are captured automatically.

HTML Interactive Demos

Available on Growth and Enterprise plans, HTML capture creates interactive, editable sandboxes. Hover over elements to place hotspots, and the extension highlights where captions will appear. Allow 1-2 seconds between clicks for proper upload.

Mac: Record demo - Cmd + Shift + 8, Capture screenshot - Cmd + Shift + 9

Windows: Record demo - Ctrl + Shift + 8, Capture screenshot - Ctrl + Shift + 9
