Understanding Share Settings

Before you actually send a Supademo out, it's worth getting familiar with the share settings that shape how a demo is experienced once it reaches a viewer.

These settings don't control where a demo is shared — they control how it shows up when someone opens it.

While you're in edit mode, share settings live inside the Share panel. When you click Share, you'll see a section called Settings. These are demo-level share settings, and they affect things like layout, visibility, and viewer interaction.

Key Share Settings

There are a few key share settings here.

Full-Width Share Page

The first is full-width share page.

This setting only applies to HTML and sandbox demos, which means it's relevant for customers on Growth and Enterprise plans.

When full width is enabled — which is the default — the demo opens in a full-screen layout that closely mirrors the real product experience.

When full width is turned off, the demo switches into a boxed, card-style layout. This is the standard view used for guided screenshot demos, so the demo will visually match that format instead.

There are three situations where turning off full width makes sense.

The first is visual consistency. If a team primarily uses guided screenshot demos but occasionally records HTML demos, turning off full width helps those HTML demos match the rest of the library.

The second is duplication. When full width is enabled, duplication cannot be turned on. If a demo needs to be duplicated — for example, for support troubleshooting or moving demos between Enterprise workspaces — full width must be disabled first.

The third is what appears on the share page itself. Certain metadata, like author names and step descriptions, only appear when full width is turned off.

Search Engine Indexing

Another share-related setting worth calling out is search engine indexing. This controls whether search engines can index a Supademo and display it in search results, which is especially relevant for public or marketing-facing demos.

External Comments

External comments are also part of share settings. As covered in the previous course, external comments allow viewers to leave comments directly on a demo even if they are not Supademo users. This makes it easy to collect feedback from people outside the workspace.

Default Settings

Most of these settings are already configured for you by default, but it's important to know they exist and how they affect the viewer experience before you start distributing a demo.
