Get New Hires Up to Speed With Personalized Training Paths

Turn Notion onboarding content into role-specific Supademo training paths, automatically delivered through Slack.

Before you start

In Claude, connect three connectors:

  • Supademo, so Claude can pick training demos and build a showcase for each person
  • Notion, so Claude can read your new-hire tracker
  • Slack, so Claude can draft the welcome message

You also need a new-hire tracker in Notion with each person's status, role, background and first 30 days focus, and a folder of training demos in Supademo.

How it works

Start with a Notion page where you track upcoming hires, with each person's status and role. One prompt has Claude find everyone starting this week, pick five to eight demos from your training folder, and put them in a showcase in the order a new hire should take them. Claude also creates a trackable link for each person and drafts a Slack welcome message that explains what is in the path and roughly how long it takes. You open each showcase to check the order, then review the drafts before anything is sent.

Chapters

  1. 1Step 1 of 2

    Build Each Training Path

Paste this prompt and fill in your tracker page and training folder:

    Prompt
Check the New Hire Tracker on the Notion page "[your new-hire tracker page]" for anyone with the status "Starting this week." For each person, use their role, background, and first 30 days focus to build a Supademo showcase from our [training demos folder] demos: start with the basics everyone needs, then add the ones that fit their role, in the order someone should take them, five to eight demos total. Create a trackable link for each person, and draft a Slack welcome message they'd get from me that explains what's in the path and roughly how long it takes. Show me the drafts before sending anything.

Claude finds who is starting, builds a showcase for each person, creates their trackable links, and explains the order it chose for each hire.

  2. 2Step 2 of 2

Check the Paths and the Welcome Drafts

Open each showcase and click through the first few demos to make sure the order makes sense. Then read the Slack welcome drafts Claude shows you. Nothing is sent until you approve it, and you can tell Claude which drafts to change.

What the New Hire Gets

  • One link instead of a doc full of links
  • The basics first, then the demos for their role, five to eight in total
  • A welcome message from you that explains what's in the path and roughly how long it takes

Tips

  • Give each hire a role, background and first 30 days focus in the tracker, so Claude has something to match demos against
  • Ask Claude to start with the basics everyone needs, then add the demos for their role
  • Connect the Supademo, Notion and Slack connectors in Claude before you start
  • Use the trackable link for each person so you can see who has watched their path

Watch out for

  • Approving the Slack welcome before opening the showcase to check the order makes sense
  • Pointing Claude at a folder with unpublished or outdated demos, which can end up in someone's path

Try it for your next new hire. Each person starts with a path built for their role, and you check every path and message before it goes out.
